AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) located on Chek Lap Kok, Lantau Island, next to Hong Kong International Airport, which is a public-private partnership development opened in 2005. 3-story building of AWE divided into Exhibition Zone and Convention & Hospitality Zone. Among the total 10 Halls at Ground Level, the AsiaWorld-Arena (Hall 1) and AsiaWorld-Summit (Hall 2) can accommodate 14,000 and 5,000 spectators respectively, which are mostly used for large forums, conferences or concerts. Other 8 halls at Ground Level can be used individually or in combination depending on the scale of activity. The meeting centre in Level 2 provide 7 meeting rooms, which can be used individually or in combination, and accommodate mostly 690 person. Lots of major events had been hold in AWE since its opening, including international conferences, exhibitions and concerts. It was also used for the Central Counting Station of the 2012 Legislative Council Election. The international reputation, venue utilization and economic benefits are increasing. AsiaWorld Expo located on Airport Island, Chek Lap Kok, Lantau. It is a cooperation project developed by HKSAR Government and private sectors, which is opened in 2005.
AsiaWorld-Arena (Hall 1) located at the Ground Level, with 10,800 sq.m area and 14,000-audience capacity. It is the largest indoor multipurpose arena in Hong Kong, and hence be frequently used for holding concerts and assembly performances, including concert of a number of world famous singers.
AsiaWorld-Summit (Hall 2) also located at the Ground Level, with 10,100 sq.m area and 5,000-visitor capacity. It is mainly used for conferences, banquets and exhibitions, including a number of international conferences.
Other eight halls providing 5,680 sq.m area respectively, which can accommodate over 2,500 people respectively. The Halls can be used individually or in combination to meet the needs. The Hall 11 named to be Runway 11, provideing specially designed and equipped with intelligent lighting systems, mainly for celebration parties, fashion shows and other activities of the more style theme.
Other than the world-class facility, AWE also has perfect location. It connects to Hong Kong International Airport and MTR Station directly, and is also adjacent to Sky Pier, offering cross-boundary ferry services toward Pearl River Delta and Macau.
AWE quickly became one of the main venue for trading and expo in Southeast Asia. It had named one of the Top Three ‘Best Convention / Exhibition Centres’ in Asia at the renowned CEI Asia Industry Awards in 2012 and 2013.
