Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre (NCWCC) is situated in the 2/F & 3/F of Ngau Chi Wan Municipal Services Building. NCWCC started services since 1987 and currently managed by Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), which is the largest public performance venue in Kowloon East. The lobby and URBTIX Box Office are located at 2/F. Facilities for hiring include Theatre, Cultural Activities hall, Lecture Room, Dance Practice Room, Art Studios and Music Practice Room, are located at 3/F. Theatre provides 354 seats, multipurpose include various performances, community activities and ceremonies. Cultural Activities Hall with varying stage arrangement can accommodate 148 viewers at most, and also can be used for exhibitions or conferences. The art performances of Theatre and Cultural Activities Hall include music concert, opera, drama and dance, usually start at 2-3pm (afternoon section) or 7-8pm (evening section). Some of the private function such as Graduation Ceremony may be held in the morning. We offer comprehensive flower basket and fruit basket series for Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre. Other than providing professional Ng Chi Wan Civic Centre delivery service, we can also arrange inquiry for the information of the programme. The general delivery time is 1-3 hours before the start of promgramme. As same as other venues under LCSD, Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre established the Venue Partnership Scheme since 2009. The present partners are E-Side Dance Company and Whole Theatre. To cooperate the Kowloon East development and promotion of arts and cultural activities, government planned to construct a community arts arena since early 1980s. NCWCC opened in 1987 and managed by Urban Council (Became Provisional Urban Council after the Return). Since the reorganization of government in 2000, NCWCC became managed by new established Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
To suit the needs of the community, the Centre had undergone a major improvement in 2002, renovating the stage and seats of Theatre. In early 2004, the Exhibition Hall was also converted to a multi-purpose Cultural Activities Hall. The Theatre also started the rebuilding from November 2012, providing more professional services and advanced facilities.
To promote the arts in the community, LCSD had started the Venue Partnership Scheme since April 2009. The present partners are E-Side Dance Company and Whole Theatre.
354-seat Theatre is traditional proscenium designed, providing venue for drama, dance, Cantonese opera, music and assembly performances. Cultural Activities Hall can be arranged for variable seating and stage configurations, providing 61-106 seats to suit different performances, and also can be used for lectures and seminars.
100 sq.m. Lecture Room has 90 seats capacity, suitable for seminars, talks, conferences, training classes, dance practices and rehearsals. Besides, NCWCC also provides Dance Practice Room, Music Practice Rooms and two Art Studios for citizens or groups, providing venues for rehearsals or small visual art performances.
