Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) is the first private university in Hong Kong. It was named Hong Kong Shue Yan College before achieving University status in December 2006.
The College was opened in 1971 and initially located at Happy Valley. The Braemar Hill campus was opened in 1985, and currently consist of three buildings - Education and Administration Complex (1985), Library Complex (1995) & Residential & Amenities Complex (2005).
SYU offers over 1,000 Bachelor's degrees each academic year for Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Commerce, and Faculty of Social Sciences. The Graduation Ceremony usually hold in November or December every year, in the Lady Shaw Hall at the university campus in North Point.
