The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, HKUST, located at Clearwater Bay, N.T., which was established in 1991. HKUST currently mainly consists of 4 Schools with 20 Divisions, and also promotes interdisciplinary studies, research and graduate studies. HKUST conferring more than 4,000 degrees every year. For 2013, there were 2,074 bachelor's degrees, 1,602 master's degrees and 189 doctoral degrees.

The HKUST Congregation will be usually held at Hong Kong Jockey Club Atrium on three consecutive afternoons in November of each year.
1st day: School of Engineering
2nd day: School of Business and Management, Interdisciplinary Programs, HKUST Fok Ying Tung Graduate School
3rd day: School of Science, School of Humanities and Social Science, Honorary Degrees

All graduating students are required to wear a cap and gown to process in the Congregation ceremony. Details of academic regalia can represent various degrees/Schools.

School of Science - Golden Yellow
School of Engineering - Orange Gold
School of Business & Management - Drab (khaki)
School of Humanities & Social Science - Off-White
Interdisciplinary Programs - Cyan (blue)
HKUST Fok Ying Tung Graduate School - Red
